Do you buy broken jewelry?

As long as it contains gold, silver or platinum, we will pay you for it. The material's value is based on its weight and purity -- NOT its condition.

What do you Pay?

Because we are a gold refiner, our prices are based on the spot market price of gold and silver. This price changes by the minutes; you always get the most up to date price when you sell to us.  In the case of jewelry or diamonds, it will vary based on the quality of the piece. Each piece sent to us is hand-inspected by one of our trained Specialists. You will always have the final say; if you aren't happy with our offer, we will always be happy to return your pieces to you immediately.

How soon will I get paid?

Questionable gold-buying companies can take several days and even weeks or months to pay you for the items you've sold them.

At Gold & Silver Buyers, we know your time is just as precious as ours. That's why we take pride in paying faster than anyone in the business. How will I be paid?

Is your mail-in service free?

Absolutely! We'll pay to ship your items to us, and even insure them! If you're in the Houston area, you can always drop by one of our convenient locations -- seven days a week -- and receive CASH on the spot!

If I mail my item to you, am I obligated to sell it?

Before shipping your valuables to any company, make sure that doesn't obligate you to accept any price they offer. Questionable companies may stipulate in the fineprint of their terms and conditions that simply shipping them your gold or jewelry is an implied agreement on your part to accept any amount they offer -- no matter how low. So be very careful!

At Gold & Silver Buyers, shipping your items to us for evaluation is just that -- an evaluation. It is never an obligation to accept our offer. When we receive your item, we evaluate it the same day and call you immediately with the price we'll pay. If you decide to keep your item, we ship it back to you the same day.

Will you tell me your price before I have to make a decision?

It's highly questionable but unfortunately typical of some companies to receive your shipped valuables and send you a check without checking with you first to make sure the amount is acceptable. By the time you receive your check, it can be very difficult, if not impossible, to refuse the amount and get your item returned.

At Gold & Silver Buyers, we evaluate your old gold or jewelry the same day we receive it. When we decide on a price to pay, we immediately call you on the telephone and make sure the amount is acceptable before we pay you anything. If you decide to keep your item instead, we don't pressure you, grumble or complain. We just ship it right back to you - at our expense.

Why is it important to deal with a company with physical offices?

Many questionable companies don't have a physical office, which not only violates federal law for precious metals companies but also inconveniences some customers. While most customers completely trust our FREE insured overnight FedEx shipping method for their items, others prefer to hand-deliver their valuables. Some customers also like to work with our team of professionals in person.

Is dealing with a company that's a refinery really an advantage?

When you sell to Gold & Silver Buyers, there are no middlemen.  We melt down the gold ourselves and our parent company purifies it for us. Since the entire process stays in-house, we can pass the savings along to you and pay you the most for your precious metals.  When you deal with pawn shops, jewelry stores, loan advance stores, gold parties and even other smaller gold buyers, there is always at least one other middleman involved, which costs YOU money!

Companies wanting to buy your gold often claim to be refiners when in reality they really just deal in scrap gold. One way to tell scrap dealers is if they offer pennies on the dollar. Unless a company pays you based on the spot market price of gold, they're probably a scrap gold dealer reselling the gold they buy for much more money.

Is your company regulated by government regulations?

Federal law requires companies that buy precious metals to comply with the USA Patriot Act. By law, they must also have a physical address. We comply with all existing local, state and Federal regulations.

Why does your company have something called an anti-money laundering (AML) program?

Companies that buy jewelry are required by federal law to set up an anti-money laundering (AML) program. Noncompliant companies face heavy penalties. To safeguard your valuables, be sure to ask any company about their AML program before you entrust them with your valuables. Gold & Silver Buyers' AML program follows all federal guidelines.

How does your company safeguard my items?

When you're looking at companies to buy your gold, always ask them to explain their security processes for safeguarding your valuables.

We begin safeguarding your old gold and jewelry the moment you place it in our FREE insured overnight FedEx envelope. FedEx securely transports valuables around the globe, and the insurance we buy covers valuables up to $25,000 in value. If your items are worth more, let us know and we'll get additional insurance for you -- at our cost.

When we receive your shipped valuables, we assign your package a tracking number so you can always know exactly where it is.

If I change my mind about selling, do I have to pay to have my item returned to me?

Many companies have restrictive policies for returning items when customers change their minds about selling. Sometimes, they force customers to pay for the return shipping.

We are different. If you ship us your old gold or jewelry but change your mind before you've been paid, we gladly return your item to you -- no questions asked.

Is it true I can ship my items using insured Express delivery?

When you're selling your gold, the last thing you need to worry about is how to ship your valuables and how much you should pay.

When you complete our online request form, one of our Specialists will contact you, so we can send you an insured Express label for FREE. Simply place your valuables in an envelope and attached the prepaid label. Gold & Silver Buyers takes care of the rest.

If you later decide you don't want to sell your gold after all, we return it to you by insured Express Mail - and you don't pay a dime. We're so pleased you consider working with Gold & Silver Buyers, paying for all of your shipping is the very least we can do.

Can I trust your privacy policy?
